they are the way to go in the .22 Mrods based my experience. Replacing what I consider to be the weak link in those guns. My MMHF barrel has made my .22 a real shooter. I got $100 off that barrel when I put it up against many high dollar guns in a competition recently and won. Of course the TSS, MDS and tuning played a roll too. Taking the time to figure out the best harmonic tune also works in ones favor.. I am interested in a refined barrel for my .25 now. Would love to compete with it too, but as good as it is, it's not ready for that.

I always recommend boring out the receiver so you are not left with the weak point where barrel and receiver meet on a drop in ...

In my view, that would just weaken the already weak aluminum receiver more. The 1/2" OD steel barrel won't matter as much to trim down a small amount.

The original Marauder barrel is .437 OD and the new drop in will be .472 before the machining to bring it down to .437. This should not affect or introduce any weak points in the barrel.

I bought a .30 cal from him before and everything fitted as advertised. I should of ask Roy to make the transfer port bigger because there's no additional cost. One thing I didn't like is how he accepts payment. Still old school with no web or PayPal options.

Thanks for your input; other than fitment, was the barrel accurate for your needs? As for Roy's form of payment... It is the same with Lothar Walther out of Georgia where he gets the barrels... check or money order only.

Yes, it was very accurate. I paid extra for a 24" .30 cal barrel instead of just 20". End up selling it because the pellets started going through my back stop and too loud for the backyard.

I have bought a .30 barrel conversion from Roy over a year ago and that made an awesome very accurate gun!

I have just contacted Roy yesterday about a drop in barrel for a Mrod, however not .177 or .22. A .20 in fact! Very excited to get this project rolling :D

Sounds sweet, keep us posted on the progress. I assume that the .177 bolt will work just fine(?)

He's making a bolt out of my .177 bolt. Not sure how long it'll be I would guess a month before I get it. Still haven't got my gun supposed to come the 21st or so. Then get the bolt and check sent out and I'm sure it'll take a week or 2 before he can get the barrel done. But I will definitely update
